Pool Party

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the pool party next Thursday, August 13!

7-9 PM (may arrive at 6:45 for check-in)

Montclair Neighborhood Pool, 1217 Sherbrook Drive (end of the street)

The pool party also serves as our Annual Booster Meeting, so please have at least one parent attend. If the parking lot is full, please park on one side of Sherbrook Dr. only, so we don’t get a visit from our friendly local police! Boosters will go over the whole season, covering additional events such as pasta parties, senior rec, fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, and more.  Coaches will cover training, team expectations, policies, etc.  During the meeting athletes can swim and socialize.

We ask that everyone bring something to share for the evening as well as a snack or drink item that we can use for meet days:

  • Seniors – 1 Pizza (for pool party) & 1 box Granola Bars (for meet snacks)
  • Juniors – Dessert, side dish or individually packaged snack for pool party & 1 box Fruit Snacks (for meet snacks)
  • Sophomores – 2 Cases Gatorade (8-12 per case)
  • Freshmen – 2 Cases of Water (24-36 per case)

We will also be collecting Booster dues at the party. Dues are $125 per athlete. Payment options:

  • Check made payable to USCHSXC and brought to the pool party, or mailed/delivered to Shannon Paupa at 549 Harrogate Road USC 15241
  • Cash, brought to the pool party, or mailed/delivered to Shannon Paupa at the address above

Reminders from the Boosters & Coaches

Hello everyone – a few reminders as we finish out July!

Info from the Boosters:

#1 – Please register your athlete(s) for the season at this link: https://usccrosscountry.com/booster-registration/

This registration is for booster use (communicating with parents, ordering gear for athletes, preparing year-end program, etc.). This registration must be completed each year, even for returning athletes, as it allows us to efficiently create our roster list and budget for the planned number of athletes. Enter first and last names as you will want them printed in the year-end program and the senior banner, if applicable. If you are registering more than one athlete, please complete a separate registration for each athlete.

#2 – While you are registering your athlete(s), take a moment and subscribe for updates on the homepage of the website:  https://usccrosscountry.com/

Subscribing means you receive the most up-to-date information in your email; and it is the main way we share booster information throughout the season.

#3 – Make sure you have the Pool Party on your calendar! Thursday evening, August 13 at the Montclair Pool, from 7-9 PM. This is also a booster meeting, so please have at least one parent attend! More details to follow early next week.

Info from the Coaches –  hopefully most of you saw this in SportsYou earlier this week from the coaches, but if not, please take this opportunity to join! See #2 for directions.

Just a few reminders for you as this week is our FINAL WEEK OF JULY Meet up Sessions for XC.

#1- It’s still not too late to attend one of our Tues, Weds, Thurs sessions.  However, this is the LAST WEEK of July in person meet ups.  Simply access the Calendar within SportsYou for date/time/location.  If we should have any changes- it will be communicated through SportsYou.  When our July XC meet ups end, athletes should follow the summer training booklet until we meet for the first official day of practice MONDAY August 17th at USC Stadium Track.

#2-If you haven’t already done so, join the USC Panthers XC Sports You account by downloading the SportsYou app and use join code: WL28FRND.   All the latest & greatest info, practice/meet schedule, and announcements from coaches are sent through SportsYou.  Additionally, once practice officially begins- athletes will use the SportsYou app to log attendance on a daily basis.   Fall meets are set up in the Sports You calendar and the coaches will update practices soon.

#3- If you plan on BEING A PART OF THE TEAM THIS fall- you MUST complete your HealthyRoster information ONLINE and submit it NO LATER THAN Sunday August 9th by 3pm.  This is a NON-NEGOTIABLE item, and PIAA/WPIAL rule.  If you information is submitted late, our USC Athletic Training Staff will NOT have sufficient time to review your forms.

If your online HealthyRoster forms are not turned in by August 9th by 3pm for the USC Athletics Trainers to review, you will not be able to be cleared by Day 1 of practice.   If you have ANY QUESTIONS regarding Healthy Roster, reach out to any of our athletics trainers…

Tiffany Michalek: tiffany.michalek@ahn.org

Benjamin Roberts: benjamin.roberts@ahn.org

Alec Uttech: Alec.Uttech@ahn.org

Athletics has a website with information related to Healthy Roster and it can be found here…

https://uscsdathletics.com/main/otherad?contentID=55470857

It is parent/guardian & athlete responsibility to reach out to the trainers if you have any questions or want to ensure all paperwork submitted is approved.  This ensures athletes are clear if they have been OK’d by the training staff.   Any athletes that have not been cleared will NOT be permitted to practice when official season begins.

Once the join window has closed, we will NOT be accepting new members for the team.

#4- Sign Up for XC Boosters- parents.   Click on link below to access the USC XC Boosters website, sign up for emails and get in the loop of information for parents/guardians

https://usccrosscountry.com/

#5- High School Online Registration Fee.   USC School District requires each cross country athlete to pay the online registration fee before 9/4/2026 at 3pm.  Link will open at some point in August and can be accessed below…

https://uscsdathletics.com/main/otherad?contentID=55470862

Reach out should you have any questions or concerns as we will slowly send information out as it happens.
