Reminder for Indoor Track and Field

This is a courtesy reminder that indoor track and field registration is underway and should be completed ASAP for all interested athletes. (XC Boosters do not have any role in indoor or outdoor T&F). For those athletes who competed in XC, registration is very simple and only requires signing off on the Team Rules and submitting Section 7 of the CIPPE through Healthy Roster. Championship Season

It’s hard to believe but we are moving into the final stretches of the season with just our championship meets remaining! Here’s a few items/events to keep in mind.

  1. Senior rec pasta dinner tonight at 6:30 PM at the MAC. All athletes plus only senior parents are invited.
  2. Athletes will be given pink shirts today at practice or at the pasta dinner. If you want any additional shirts for parents/fans and didn’t order already they are $10 each and please text Michele Unice at 412-780-2323.
  3. Service project: Clean up at Gilfillan Farms will be held Saturday October 18 beginning at 9:30 AM (corrected time) and will last about 1 hour.
  4. Banquet- Thursday October 30 at the Crowne Plaza, 6:30 PM arrival. Please see a separate email arriving soon regarding RSVP and payment for the banquet. We look forward to celebrating the season!
  5. For some athletes, tomorrow’s Mingo meet will be the final meet of the season. Some athletes will continue on through Tri-States next week, and the final group will continue through WPIALS. Boosters will be collecting locker name plates for athletes as they wrap up their season. Seniors will be gifted their name plate at the end of season banquet. All other grades please have your nameplate available in the locker room or turn it in to boosters if you are finishing your season, and boosters will hold them for next year.
  6. Seniors may keep their black warmup top if desired, or turn in to boosters if they do not want to keep it. All other grades should plan to keep their warmup top safe for use next season. A couple of athletes are missing their tops. Please see if an extra has made it to your house mistakenly. All tops are marked with a number and initials of the assigned athlete so you can verify if it’s the right one. Email boosters if you are unsure.

Senior Rec Dinner, Ft. Couch visit, & Mingo Meet

This week’s pasta dinner will honor our Senior class. All athletes as well as Senior parents please join us Wednesday Oct. 8th @ 6:30pm at the MAC (1750 McLaughlin Run Rd). We have 15 Seniors that we will be recognizing.

Thursday Oct. 9th is our Mingo Meet. Athletes are encouraged to wear Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness in any form at this meet. The boosters have purchased and will provide a Pink Out shirt for all athletes. We purchased extra shirts that are for sale to any parents/fans that are interested. They cost $10 each. Please request shirts through this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1VECItOZeb9BOiV12QPsaUS4t0mIVVYXQYsWv-eLsCYo/edit

High schools athletes have been invited to Ft. Couch on Wednesday to give a pep talk to middle school athletes about joining XC at the high school. Athletes should see the details in Sports You and inform coaches if they would like to participate.

Here are some helpful directions for the Mingo Meet if you are planning on coming to watch!!  Mingo Creek County Park, Finleyville PA – As you come into the park bear to the left and follow signs for shelters 6-10 and make a sharp left and then another sharp left onto Mansion Hill to go up to the shelters. Parking will be along there.
